Can a “parave” cake be baked in a fleishig oven? I need to know!

  • to lucky charm

it can, but… is counted as fleishig and cannot be eaten with milk
the cakes for the event should NOT be baked in a fleishig oven

  • Lucky Charms

Do people actually have a parave oven?!

Isn’t it enough just to heat up the fleishig oven on the highest temperature for an hour before baking a milchig cheese cake? That’s what I always do!

What about a “continuous clean” oven – I may buy one, does that “self-kasher”?

  • To kscvk

OMG – how can we trust cakes made in ovens used for both milchig and fleishig? They are as trief as the cereal Lucky Charms, v’dal.

i think if you heat up a ben yomo oven – for an hour. then you can bake a cake that is considered to be PAREVE and can eat it with milchigs.

  • Hashgocha Protis

Who makes sure the kashrus of these cakes is acceptable? Seeing some of the comments, I note a third option to the instructions, “Cakes may be milchig or parave”, the other option is that the cakes may be treif.

When processed food items are sold, one’s personal and private hashgocha on the kashrus is not hashgocha protis.
