Shiur in Inyonai Geuala U’Moshiach with R. Seligson

As we reported last week about the new initiative by Bochurim in Kvutseh to have a Shiur in Inyonai Geuala U’Moshiach in 770, Tuesday Night marked the successful completion of the second such Shiur which had a larger attendance. The Shiur was given by R. Michoel Seligson.

Veteran Singer Releases Music Video

Veteran Jewish singer Avraham Fried is branching out into new territory with a professionally produced, slick music video that is clean and yet meets industry standards still rare in Jewish music.

Avraham Fried, who composed the melody and words for the song, also co-produced and acted in the video which is contained in his latest CD. Light touches of computer animation and special effects are also featured, such as the letters on a page of Gemara flying off into the air. The video was produced by JewishFilms.com.

OK Kosher Certification’s 8th Annual Mashgichim Conference

On Monday, November 20, 2006, over 100 mashgichim and rabbinic coordinators convened for OK Kosher Certifications’ 8th Annual Mashgichim Conference – a day of learning and professional development. The rabbis represented thousands of manufacturing facilities and 250,000 kosher certified products. An exciting day of conferencing, in a private hall in the heart of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY, was capped off with a delicious lunch, catered by OK supervised Crown Heights Bunch-O-Bagels and More.

The conference, once again magnificently coordinated by OK Rabbinic Coordinator Rabbi Chaim Fogelman and Dina Orron, was designed to provide the mashgichim with important and enlightening kashrus related information, in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Indeed, the Mashgichim, coming from as far as Australia, Israel, Thailand, Venezuela and Belgium including all of our USA representatives, delighted in each other’s company and bonded as if one family.

Crown Heights — Thousands of Jewish leaders closed out their annual Chabad-Lubavitch convention in Crown Heights Sunday with a promise to help the world better understand Judaism.

More than 2,000 religious and community members and emissaries from around the world attended a week of workshops and programs in Brooklyn. They say the goal was to arm emissaries with the tools to combat common misconceptions of their faith and its people. Ambassadors travel to countries like China, Russia and Brazil where they say they often encounter problems when trying to communicate with the cultures. They say their goal is to educate and support practicing Jews, not to convert people.

The conference also focused on dealing with terrorism.

The five day-long International Conference of Chabad Lubavitch Emissaries reaches its crescendo at a gala banquet this Sunday, November 19, 5:30 PM, at the Garden State Convention Center. Over three thousand Chabad Lubavitch emissaries — leaders of Jewish communities and dedicated catalysts of Jewish renaissance worldwide — and lay leaders are participating in this extraordinary event.
