12 Cars’ Tires Slashed in Possible Hate Crime
Residents on Montgomery St. between Kingston and Brooklyn Ave. – the same block that saw a devastating fire last night – awoke this morning to find that twelve parked cars had their tires slashed.

At around 12:20 this afternoon, a man walked into Apple Bank on Albany Ave. and handed the teller a note demanding money. He did not display any weapon.
This morning, like many others, a Crown Heights family woke up to find their tires missing and their car suspended on crude cinderblocks instead. But this time the crime was even more surprising because the car had wheel locks installed.

An elderly African-American woman went on a shoplifting spree on Kingston Ave. today, stealing about $70 worth of merchandise from Apple Drugs and then continuing down to Kol-Tuv.
A home security surveillance video caught footage of the thieves who made off with a minivan’s tires on President St. two days ago. The thieves can [barely] be seen in the top right corner of the video, arriving in what seems to be a black Nissan or Infinity. They arrived in two trips, taking the left tires first and then returning for the right ones. The theft occurred between 2:00 and 5:00am.
Two people were killed in separate stabbing incidents and two people were shot in Crown Heights Monday evening as the West Indian Day Parade wound down, police said.
