Group of Jews Apprehend Car Burglar

Rather stand idly by and remain victims, a group of Jewish men sprung into action Wednesday and apprehended a man whom they had witnessed breaking into a minivan. Other passersby ran to the police station for help.

The incident occurred at around 12:00pm on Wednesday in the vicinity of Crown Street and New York Avenue. A number of people witnessed the man break into a parked minivan, when he emerged they grabbed and held him until police arrived.

Police sources said that a Black man walked into the precinct, which was just two short blocks away, and notified cops that ‘a group of Jewish men are holding down a Black man’. Officers rushed to the scene and took the suspect into custody.

In his possession police found a number of a GPS units as well as car speakers that he apparently stole from a number of cars. The man was then placed under arrested and charged with multiple thefts.

CrownHeights.info was informed that the suspect has a long list of priors which included many similar crimes.

    Years ago, our old friend (forgot his title) Vega from the 71st told me there was another habitual thief called Armstrong whose MO was similar to Nelson’s. Was this Armstrong or is there a real epidemic of this kind of petty recidivism thanks to the bad economy/

    What a joke- on him! He actually ended up being helpful- the police were hoping to arrest some Jews so they arrived quickly. But the crime will most likely be covered up- unlikely to ever reach the police files.

      thats totally rediculous! I’m sure they did not come rushing, think they would finallly get to arrest some jews! Im sure they are aware that members of the community habve taken matters into their own hands before and apprehend suspects until further help arrives.

      Stopv playin gthe role of victem and target, not everyone is “out to get you”. Believe it or not the police are actually here to help, to to say AHA i might get a chance to arrest a jew!

    Don’t kid yourself. This is not stealing bread from a store to feed hungry mouths. Preying on Jews and their belongings has been a longstanding and constant form of ’employment’ in Crown Heights- regardless of the state of the economy. It’s been going on so long they should offer a pension and paid vacation. Personally, my sympathies lie with the victims who also suffer from the ‘bad economy’ and are willing to work for what they have. There are some people who don’t have a dime and will never be poor enough to steal. And there are some people who trade in stolen belongings for wads of cash, but they’ll always be poor.

    #6 claims that ‘the police are here to help’ and that assuming otherwise is childish. I’m always willing to learn something new. I am particularly interested in hearing how you reconcile your statement to the fact that in the past year or so in two separate, video recorded cases, innocent Jews were brutalized by the police and absolutely no disciplinary action was taken by the police department. The police have a disturbing practice of siding with black perpetrators against a Jew when there are other Blacks around. They sure are friendly though when a crime has been committed and the criminals have fled the scene, they’ve got lots of helpful suggestions then. I don’t see them making much of an effort to search for assaulters and muggers but they found the energy to extradite a Jewsih man from ANOTHER COUNTRY for allegedly assaulting someone who sustained no injuries, and that to defend a child who had been targeted by the alleged victim (who was never charged). When you can lucidly explain the above and show me that more than one or two police officers have our interests at heart, I will be glad to think the way you do.

    First Thank god most of MY goods were recovered.
    the thief got caught with the help of few good guys Jews and non Jews,who chase him down,
    few African Americans started recording with Smart phones,police came in about 5 min,arrested him,took many pics of the car,did a short investigation on the spot,some of the goods were taken to the 71.for evidence and was returnd to me later,
    I was contacted later at night by the DA office,
    this thief was trying to steal from my car in the past,
    this time he got caught.
    I know he will be on the street again very soon.
    in my younger days when we were all ONE and unite, this scumbag wouldn’t last long…

    Can you take him to court to pay for the damage? Like lost time at work insurance premium etc. I believe if he had to pay he would not do it again.
