Routine Car Stop Turns into Chaos, Ends with Arrest
What should have been a routine car stop quickly turned into chaos. Police officers attempted to pull over a car they suspected was stolen. The driver fled, making a turn against traffic and crashed. One police officer was injured.
The incident occurred on Lefferts Avenue near Nostrand at around 4:45pm. Officers attempted to stop a late model red Nissan Altima being driven by a Black male in his 30’s.
Instead of stopping, the driver made a turn from Lefferts against traffic up Nostrand Avenue. Two blocks later he crashed and fled the wrecked on foot, but officers were right behind him and attempted to apprehend him only he fought back – injuring one of the officers.
Dozens of backup police officers flooded the area in search of the suspect, who they found inside a store on Empire Boulevard near the post office. He was promptly placed under arrest and charged with reckless driving, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of others.
In a bizarre twist it turns out that the vehicle belonged to the suspect and police don’t believe he had any cause or need to flee.

He clearly did have a reason to flee. It just has yet to be determined.
agree
He for sure had a reason to flee. Did anyone try “previous record of crime” yet?!
FRED REALITY CHECK
silly editorship. “In a bizzare twist…” Duh you don’t run for no reason…
It's sad that the only time the police
flood the area and catch a criminal is if the criminal injures a police officer
If he injured a regular person the police wouldn’t of had enough manpower to catch him
