Serious Accident Traps Passengers on Eastern Parkway

BROOKLYN, NY [CHI] – Three people were injured in a single car accident on Eastern Parkway and St. Johns Place in Brownsville. The car, a Cadillac STS with three passengers, was observed speeding when it jumped a curb, clipped a light pole causing the car to flip and land on its roof.

Car Door Vs Fire Truck in front of 770

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] – A fire truck severely damaged the door of a car after it was opened into it. The incident happened in front of 770 when a car parked in the ‘no standing’ zone opened its door after half the truck passed it by, causing it to get snagged on the truck and damaged.

The most recent incident happened this afternoon at around 2:15pm when an Israeli Bochur attempted to cross in the middle of the street near 770.

Shula Swerdlov OBM, 3, Killed in Horrific Accident

JERUSALEM, Israel [CHI] — Shula Swerdlov, a 3 and a half year old girl was fatally injured in a hit and run accident in the Rechavia neighborhood of Jerusalem. Volunteers in the United Hatzalah organization responded to the scene and for a long hour attempted to revive the girl then transporting her to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Shula is the daughter of a Rabbi Yossi and Hindel Swerdlov who work in the Tourisim outreach division of Tzerei Agudat Chabad in Israel, and grandparents Reb Leibel and Miriam Swerdlov in Crown Heights.

Lubavitcher Teens Injured on Pennsylvania Highway

I-78, PA — Two 16-year-olds were injured this afternoon when another car reversed into them on a median on Interstate 78 in Williams Township this afternoon, according to state police at Belfast.

Police said Yakov Huebner, 18, of Brooklyn N.Y., pulled into the median at mile marker 75.9 on the westbound side of I-78 at 12:24 p.m. after hearing a noise coming from his car. The teens, a boy from Israel and a girl from Brooklyn, N.Y., who’s names were not released due to their age, were outside the car also checking on the tire, police said.

Boy Killed in Accident on Way to Shul Shabbos Morning

WILLIAMSBURG — A car struck and killed a 9-year-old boy in Williamsburg Saturday morning, police say. According to authorities, the 54-year-old driver of a Honda Accord was making a turn onto Wallabout Street at around 8 a.m. when she plowed into the child. Police say it appears the 9-year-old may have run into traffic. He was taken to Brooklyn Hospital, where he later died.
