CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Two people were shot in a hail of bullets as a fresh wave of violence erupted on Utica Avenue, and police are searching for a single gunman described a 15-year-old black male.

UPDATE FOR THE KSCVK BBQ FOR MEN TONIGHT

Due to the advice of the Rabbinical authorities, mashpiem and the advice of people of our community, the mashke tasting contest will be cancelled. The BBQ will go on as planned rain or shine with renowned badchan Reb Shlomo Hadarshan.

Update: Please Continue to Say Tehilim for my Grandparents

The Wilansky family sent an email to CrownHeights.info, thanking the community for saying Tehilim for their grandparents. The grandparents are on life support, after being severely injured in a car accident in Connecticut. The email goes on to give an update on their condition and requesting to continue saying Tehillim.

Lawsuit Update In Chabad of Litchfield Action

LITCHFIELD, CT — In actions last week and earlier this week, the plaintiffs in a Jewish group’s lawsuit claiming an anti-Hasidic bias in Litchfield filed an amended complaint to add a defendant and the town of Litchfield filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit-at least with regard to the municipality.

BH Its been busy at Yeshiva Darchai Menachem. Every night of Chanukah another drawing with exciting programs have taken place. On Sunday, the first night of Chanukah Darchai Menachem had a menorah competition like never before. Menorahs were built out of all kinds of things you can ever imagine. “Judging the winner this year was pretty tough” says Rabbi Lieder, one of the judges, “all the boys did a wonderful job”.

Update on the Proceedings with the Rubashkin Sentencing

Update: 7:18pm The case was adjourned to tomorrow morning in a courthouse in Allentown, PA at 9:30. The judge was quoted saying that this was due to the “nature of the late hour.”

PHILADELPHIA, PA [CHI] — Lots of Crown Heights residents made their way to Pennsylvania District Court in order to show support of Reb Moshe and his son Sholom Rubashkin who were indicted on charges of illegal storage of hazardous waste in their Montex Textiles company, formerly located in Allentown, PA, without a permit, and one count of making a materially false statement.

A bus packed with people, in addition to many private cars left Crown Heights as early as 6:30am, and filled the small courtroom well beyond capacity leaving many in the hallways and outside the courtroom just saying Tehillim and curiously awaiting updates.
