New York — The efforts of three trailblazing young rabbis were recognized by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who issued an official proclamation yesterday declaring July 6, 2011 to be “Bike 4 Friendship Day.” The proclamation pays tribute to Bike 4 Friendship, the cross-country fundraising and awareness bike tour for the Friendship Circle.

Rubashkin Bail Denied; Appeal Still Under Consideration

Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin’s motion for bail pending the outcome of his appeal has been denied by the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. The Court handed down its decision in a brief sentence, before the defense could file its response to the government brief contesting the bail motion. The judges have not yet ruled on the appeal itself.
