MINEOLA, NY [CHI] — Chabad of Mineola today announced it will hold a webcast to discuss ‘Joe the Plumber’ and the ‘US Airways Miracle on the Hudson’ on Jan. 20, 2009 at 8 p.m. EST. Rabbi Anchelle Perl, Director of Cong. Beth Sholom Chabad of Mineola, will host the Webcast. The estimated one-hour webcast conference will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009.
Chabad of Southern Colorado is nearing completion of its beautiful Mikvah. Rabbi Moshe Liberow who has been on Shlichus in the area since 2001, said “There has been a great need of a Mikvah for the locals as well as for the many tourists that visit this region”. The drive to Denvers’ Mikvah – which is currently the closest, is close to 130 miles round trip. Thus, this new Mikvah will enable many to start keeping this integral Mitzvah. After much work and red tape acquiring the necessary permits etc, the work began right before Purim and is now nearing completion.

The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) in conjunction with the Department of Sanitation (DSNY) today announced the suspension of Alternate Side Parking (ASP) regulations citywide for Tuesday, January 20 to facilitate snow removal. However, parking meters will remain in effect throughout the City.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Friday morning accident left two city employees injured and the assistance provided by Shomrim and Hatzalah made a massive Kiddush Hashem. The incident took place at around 10:30am in the intersection of Union Street and Albany Avenue where two cars, an BMW SUV and a Toyota Prius, collided after one of them blew through a red light.
