Two City Workers Injured in Friday Morning Car Crash

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Friday morning accident left two city employees injured and the assistance provided by Shomrim and Hatzalah made a massive Kiddush Hashem. The incident took place at around 10:30am in the intersection of Union Street and Albany Avenue where two cars, an BMW SUV and a Toyota Prius, collided after one of them blew through a red light.

The SUV was driven by a Jewish woman while the city owned Prius had two Housing Police officers, one who sustained gashes to his head and was bleeding while the other had a broken leg. A passing Shomrim member was the first on scene and immediately alerted Hatzalah and 911.

Hatzalah responded with two ambulances who treated and transported the two Housing Officers while FDNY EMS treated the Jewish woman, who refused further medial treatment.
