Jackie Mason: Obama is a “Schvartza”

Comedian Jackie Mason used what some say is a racial epithet in describing President Barack Obama during his act Thursday night, infuriating at least several people in the crowd.

During a performance at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency in NYC, Mason referred to Obama as a “schwartza” — some say it’s equivalent to the “N” word — others say it’s just part of the Yiddish culture and a literal translation of the word “Black.”

Members of the Chabad of Lake Worth congregation celebrated the completion of their new Torah on Sunday with dancing, food and a traditional chupah canopy over the scroll.

Lawyers Spar Over Iowa Agriprocessors Witnesses

DES MOINES, IA [AP] — Prosecutors and attorneys for a kosher meatpacking plant and its former manager are sparring over taking testimony from witnesses before the case goes to trial.

Attorneys for Agriprocessors and former manager Sholom Rubashkin say they’re concerned the witnesses could leave the country. They ask that four material witnesses be compelled to testify before trial, scheduled for September.

Brick Thrown into Classroom Window, Bochur Injured

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A large brick was lobbed into a first-floor classroom, striking a Bochur in the head this afternoon, Sunday. The Bochur sustained deep cuts and lacerations to his head, requiring multiple stitches to control the bleeding. This was the second violent act of the day, Sunday afternoon alone, where Jewish boys were the target of vicious assaults.

Jewish Boy Assaulted by Black Gang

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A group of Black teens viciously assaulted a Jewish boy on Lefferts Avenue this afternoon, Sunday. The incident took place in front of the Shul Bais Eliyahu Nochum, which is between Albany and Troy Avenues. A Jewish boy was sitting on the steps of the shul waiting for his father, when a group of 6 or 7 Black teens threw a football directly at him; the group then surrounded and assaulted the young boy. According to the victim, he received at least two punches from each of his attackers.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Two cars on one block were broken into and had their airbags stolen overnight between Motzai Shabbos and Sunday. The incident took place on Crown Street between Albany and Kingston Avenues, and the cars hit were a Honda Pilot and Accord.

25 college aged women put on a fashion show at the Chabad House in Vestal, to help raise money for Sharsheret.

TZFAS [CHI] — M’shehnichnas Adar Marbim B’simcha…………the bochurim of the yeshiva were treated to a beautiful Shabbaton at Hotel Kibbutz Lavi. Not knowingly the bochurim made a huge Kiddush Lubavitch at the Friday night Seudas Shabbos! One of the guests of the hotel came over to Rabbi ‘O’rimland thanking him and the bochurim for making the meal so lebedik and beautiful. He told Rabbi ‘O’ that only by Lubavitch can you find such Simcha and feel such warmth. This guest was so inspired that he joined the bochurim Shabbos morning for davening in their minyan! Motzei Shabbos the bochurim were treated to swimming, pizza and a kumsitz where Rabbi ‘O’ told over a number of inspiring stories in which the bochurim were very touched by.
