OGDENSBURG, NY [AP] — The state agriculture department has shut down a troubled kosher cheese plant near New York’s northern border.
The action Friday was based on inspection of the Ahava plant and samples of its products, which showed excessive levels of bacteria. State inspectors have seized more than 25,000 pounds of cheese found unfit for human consumption.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Shomrim members checked out a call for a sighting of Terrence Nelson, the one accused of terrorizing vehicle owners in Crown Heights, and consequently encountered a much more serious call just across the street.
A Bochur approached one of the members who was staking out the alleyway while others were inside checking it and alerted him to a Black male who was climbing onto the back porch of a Montgomery Street home.

The program will consist of a performance of the illusionist Shimi Illuzini and the prize drawing for men’s prizes only, the event chairman is Mendy Pellin. The viewing begins at 8:30pm and the program begins at 10:15pm in the Oholei Torah Ballroom, 667 Eastern Parkway.
