Chabad of Houston Celebrates with Chocolate Menorah

The Chabad of Uptown Houston is making this Chanukah a sweet experience.

Chabad members constructed what they hoped would become the world’s largest chocolate menorah, made up of 480 chocolate donuts, fruit roll-ups and edible gelt.

Senator Reid Lights Menorah with Chabad Delegation

WASHINGTON, DC [CHI] — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took time from his busy schedule this morning to light a special Chanukah Menorah with Rabbi Cunin and a West Coast Chabad Lubavitch Nevada delegation. US Senator John Ensign joined the lighting ceremony, which was the highlight of a Chanukah reception held at a breakfast in the Lyndon B. Johnson room in the US Capitol.

Made out of a massive slab of stone, this unique menorah, dubbed ‘the heaviest menorah in the world’, and was built in honor of the soldiers in the Israeli Defence Force, and was build by Ran Nachmani. The menorah stands at the entrance to the Kochav Yaakov settlement in Givat Binyamin.
