That’s what someone told one of my colleagues yesterday when asked to vote for a school to win $500,000 in the Kohl’s contest.
My first reaction was, “Wow, is it really that annoying? Now that I am on the asking end of it I didn’t think of that.” But then I remembered back to a year ago when Devorah Benjamin asked people to vote for her amazing organization, Keren Simchas Choson V’Kallah.

When 12-year-old Jacob Adler tried out a bicycle at a trade show in West Orange last year, he was able to ride around the exposition floor. This was a remarkable event for Jacob, who has suffered from cerebral palsy since birth and is dependent on a wheelchair. Jacob’s parents Hillel and Debby Adler of Dickerson Road knew immediately that the bicycle would help Jacob become more mobile and give him greater opportunities to interact with other children.
Reb Mottel Fisher was one of the handful of American boys that joined Rabbi Yisroel Jacobson for his Shabbos afternoon Tanya Shiur in Brownsville during the 1930s. In August of 1939, only weeks before World War II broke out, Reb Mottel with a few of his friends – including Rabbis Avrohom Hecht and Mottel Altein, set out in the historic trip to join the Central Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Otwock, Poland, to be with the Frierdiker Rebbe. On the way to Poland, the group traveled through Paris, meeting with the Rebbe, who came to see them in the train station.
