Antwerp Day Camp Comes to a Close

ANTWERP, Belgium [CHI] — The boys division of the Gan Israel Day Camp of Antwerp, is coming to a close after a wonderful, exciting summer. The camp has 180 frum boys (mostly not Lubavitch,) and is part of the summer camp network of Chabad of Antwerp, headed by Rabbi Shabtai Slavaticki. The entire network consists of 900 campers.

Campers enjoyed four fun packed weeks, going on exciting trips and taking part in wonderful activities, including a treasure hunt through the city of Antwerp, a carnival, and a grand end of summer play produced by the Madrichim.

The Madrichim, most of whom come from the USA, in addition to a few locals and some from Israel, also spent their time out of camp learning with locals, and doing Mivtzoim in Belgium and nearby countries.

Antwerp has an excellent base of Shluchim. But special mention must be said about the dynamic young Shliach Rabbi Yossi Slavaticki, and his equally dynamic wife, Mashie.

Since formally arriving in Antwerp, the city has not been the same. They are making a wonderful Jewish revolution, and powerful strides in the ongoing expansion of Chabad in the area.

    Kudos!!
