CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] – Opening game 1 of the Crown Heights Softball Leagues finals were the three members of the Vaad Hakohol, who together all threw out the first pitch, opening up the game for the Heifers to beat the Tribe.
At the tail end of two weeks of Torah study led by visiting bochurim Mendel Jacobs and Mayer Gurkov, Rabbi Shais Taub farbrenged with the participants at Chabad of Northbrook, IL.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Candidate for New York State Attorney General, Eric T. Schneiderman, currently serving as a NYS Senator for the 31st district, met today with Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, chairman of Merkos Leinyonai Chinuch.
The first Shabbos of the spiritual month of Elul was intensely uplifted at Aliya. Aliya’s annual Shabbaton this year was held at the beautiful East Hamptons.

With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Sarah Shemtov, 74, a longtime resident of Crown Heights.
She is survived by her children; Rabbi Yossi Shemtov, Shliach in Tucson, AZ, Mrs. Feige Duchman (Crown Heights), Rabbi Kasriel Shemtov (Crown Heights), Mrs. Bassie Treitel (Montreal), and Rabbi Levi Shemtov, Shliach in Detroit, MI.
The Levaya will take place today, Tuesday and will be leaving from the Shomrei Hadas Chaples at 12:00pm and passing by 770 at around 12:45pm
Marking the end of an exciting and eventful summer the campers and staff members got together for a banquet where awards, trophy’s, and gifts were given out.
A magnificent audio collection, which will enable new access to dozens of Farbrengens, Sichos and Yechidusen of the Rebbe was recently donated to The Living Archive Preservation Project. The recordings, made by Rabbi Yossi Goldstein and his son Aaron, span the years 1951 through 1977.
Maybe they can call themselves the Rikers Jailbirds and warm up audiences with a spirited rendition of “Working on the Chain Gang.”
A new Torah was welcomed with singing and dancing to Chabad House of Caulfield, housed in a 770 look alike building in St. Kilda in Australia.
CROWN HEIGHTS — In an interesting show of Achdus all three Vaad Hakohol Members will be on hand for the opening game of the Crown Heights Softball Leagues Playoffs, and will all be throwing the ceremonial first pitch side by side to start the game.
