With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Harav HaChossid Rabbi Sholom Dovber Goldshmid, OBM, of Crown Heights, 86. Reb Sholom Dovber survived the Chevron Massacre in 1929. Arriving in New York, he opened a butcher shop in Crown Heights and was zoche to be the one supplying the Rebbe’s household with meat. He was also zoche to drive the Rebbe home from 770 many times until his marriage in 1951.

Bearded Chasidim danced joyfully with recent Israeli army graduates, as Ofri Meir sang nostalgic mizrachi melodies and crowds of local Jews noshed on kosher sushi, grilled salmon, roasted vegetables and tasty Middle Eastern desserts.
