Klein Online

A rocket launched by Palestinian militants toward Israel makes its way from the northern Gaza Strip, seen from the Israeli-Gaza Border, southern Israel, Nov. 15, 2012.

Two rockets launched from the Gaza Strip today landed in Rishon Letzion, some 7 miles south of Tel Aviv. No causalties were reported in those rocket attacks, by far the farthest strikes by Hamas in two days of fighting. Rishon Letzion is considered a sister city to Tel Aviv.

Update: Residents of Kfar Chabad are reporting that warning sirens have gone off in town. Kfar Chabad is located roughly two miles from Rishon Letzion. It is less than a mile away from Ben Gurion airport.

Bill Introduced to Allow Stopping in Front of Hydrant

After receiving complaints from several constituents, Councilman David G. Greenfield today introduced common sense legislation in the City Council that would allow motorists to temporarily stop at fire hydrants at all times as long as they are ready to immediately move their vehicle in the case of an emergency. Currently, drivers in New York City are allowed to temporarily stand at fire hydrants only during daylight hours, but not during evening hours.

Lubavitcher Wants to Be Next Blue Jays Manager

Yahoo News

Zev Icyk

“Three thousand years of beautiful tradition from Moses to Sandy Koufax to the first rabbi-manager in the big leagues?”

If 25-year-old Zev Icyk has his way, that statement will ring a little truer after the Toronto Blue Jays offer him the last managerial opening in baseball this winter. The lifelong Jays fan is currently studying at the Rabbinical College of America in New Jersey but told columnist Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun that he’d like to lead inside a stadium in addition to a synagogue.
