REMINDER: Free Vaccine Clinic Monday

The pediatricians of Crown Heights and the NY Department of Health support and recommend that all children between 6-12 months receive the MMR vaccine to help protect them from the current measles outbreak in Crown Heights. A group of volunteer doctors and nurses are making this super easy by arranging a free vaccination clinic this Monday.

A Counselor Helps his Campers, Now You Can Too

A camp counselor of two years discovered that many of his past campers would not be coming back to camp for financial reasons. Not to allow such a thing to effect a child’s summer, he launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the children again enjoy camp.

Fur Ban Proposal on the Table in NYC

There is a fur ban on the table in New York City. If it passes, it will cause some serious anti-Shtreimel sentiment. The fur ban was introduced back in March by City Council Speaker Corey Johnson. It does have a clause that contains a religious exemption.

Illness Doesn’t Disrupt Israeli Children’s Summer Fun

It’s Firefighting Day at the Lev Chabad day camp at Meir Hospital, and four-year-old Shira Maatuf is impatient for activities to begin. She has been in the hospital for a few days with a lung infection and while it interrupted her carefree summer vacation, for Shira, the Lev Chabad activities at Meir Hospital are more than an acceptable substitute. The organization’s day camps offer a fun and meaningful alternative to what would otherwise be long, tedious and lonely days spent in a hospital ward.

Los Angeles Children’s Minyan Welcomes New Sefer Torah

Hundreds of men, women and children gathered together to welcome in a very special Sefer Torah, the first of its kind in the rapidly growing community of Pico-Robertson. Rabbi Eli Hecht, Shliach of the Rebbe In Lomita California and family donated the brand new Sefer Torah to be used exclusively for Kol Avrohom, the exciting children’s program and youth Minyan, run at Bais Bezalel Chabad by Rabbi Zalmy Hecht.
