Murder Victim Samantha Josephson Remembered
A senior at the University of South Carolina, Josephson was a native of New Jersey. She was set to graduate in just a few weeks and was looking forward to starting at Drexel University Law School in Philadelphia in the fall. She had been out with friends in the very early hours of Friday when she got separated from them, called for an Uber to take her home and then got into a car she thought was her ride. Her body was found later that day some 90 miles away. The man accused of abducting and killing her was arrested on Saturday.

The Lubavitch educational center in Miami Florida was locked down by the schools security team when an abandoned building next door became the center of a massive police manhunt. The Police were searching for a suspected killer of two, including one child.
UN Amends Resolution to Condemns Anti-Semitism
The UN General Assembly convened a special session on Tuesday to adopt a resolution condemning hate crimes. In its original version, the proposal only referred to Islamophobia, but after a diplomatic effort led by Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, with many UN states, the proposal was changed and condemned anti-Semitism as well.

Kalman Yeger Thrown Off Immigration Committee Following Controversial Tweet
Kalman Yeger, a New York City councilman, lost his seat on the City Council’s Immigration Committee for tweeting “Palestine does not exist.” The tweet, posted Wednesday, came in response to a tweet by Zainab Iqbal, a journalist for the local publication Bklyner. Yeger, who represents the haredi Brooklyn neighborhood of Borough Park, also called Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar an anti-Semite. Omar has been accused repeatedly of echoing anti-Semitic stereotypes.

Hate Crimes Forum Coming to Crown Heights
A public forum on Hate Crimes is being hosted at the Jewish Children’s Museum this Wednesday. The public forum, which will have District Attorney Eric Gonzalez in attendance, is in collaboration between the District Attorneys Office and the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force.
HASC Launches Vocational Program for the Disabled
