For Aura Chaya Gispan (Bitton) and Barbara Freedman, two chavrusas who were paired together by JNet in 2007, their learning partnership quickly evolved into the more literal definition of the word chavrusa: in Aramaic, “friendship” or “companionship.”
Community Bonfire Wednesday Night in Crown Heights
As Lag B’omer begins Wednesday night, a community bonfire event will be taking place at Wingate High School located at 600 Kingston Ave. (between Rutland Rd and Winthrop St).
Lag B’Omer Street Fair in Crown Heights
On Thursday, Lag B’Omer, there will be a street fair in the afternoon for the entire community. The fair will take place on Lefferts Ave. between Kingston Ave. and New York Ave from 1:00pm-6:00pm.

JEM: A Special Lag B’Omer Event Outside 770
This Wednesday evening, hundreds of children and their parents will join together in front of 770 for a viewing of the Rebbe’s Lag B’omer parade. On Eastern Parkway, at the exact spot where the actual parade took place, schoolchildren from all over Crown Heights will join together to listen, answer questions, and win awesome prizes. A special raffle will be made on a coin minted for the 1990 Lag B’omer parade.

The Sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, “The Rayatz”, HaRav Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, spent almost three months in Lakewood at the home of a supporter by the name of Mr. Charles Paston. In fact the Rebbe spent pesach there during that stay, and held farbrengen’s there as well.
