Last week, Chabad’s Or Avner school in Baku was ranked by the State Examination Center (SEC) among the top twenty schools in Azerbaijan. The annual assessment is based on pedagogical and educational criteria established by the SEC and pronounced the Jewish school (K-12) one of the best for quality of education among all the schools in the Muslim-majority country.

A rare and fascinating letter from the Rebbe is up for auction in Israel. The letter, part typed, part handwritten, is addressed to Rabbi Yeshayah HaLevi Horowitz, and is written on HaMerkaz L’Inyanei Chinuch stationery.

Mr. Don Wolf presently resides in Melbourne, Australia, where he works in his family’s property development business. Before retiring, he had served for over 35 years on the board of the Yeshivah Centre, including 12 years as chairman. He was interviewed in July of 2016.
Iran’s military seized a foreign tanker in the Strait of Hormuz Thursday, Iranian media outlets reported. While the ship was not identified, nor its country of origin revealed, the Iranian Fars outlet reported that the ship had a crew of 12, who were taken captive by Iranian military forces.
