In preparation for Purim, in the month of Adar Beis, we share a letter of the Rebbe about the significance of Shalach Monos and how it comes to rectify the transgression, by some, in the days of Achashverosh. The circumstances of the day brought about a misconception by some Jews that it is the beginning of a new “era” of complete assimilation.

House Approves Resolution Condemning Hatred

The US House of Representatives on Thursday approved by an overwhelming majority a measure broadly condemning anti-Semitism and other forms of hatred. The measure condemning “anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, racism, and other forms of bigotry” was passed by a vote of 407-23, with 23 Republicans opting to vote against the resolution.

BDE: Rabbi Zalman Baras, 38, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Rabbi Zalman Baras, a Mashpia at Yeshiva Lubavitch in Cincinnati. He passed away on Thursday, 30 Adar I, 5779 following an extended illness. He was 38 years old. Updated with Levaya information.
