Letter To The Community From The Maple Street Shul

Dear Neighbors and Friends:

Congregation Ahavas Moische, known to everyone as The Maple Street Shul, will be holding its annual Melave Malka on March 25, 2006, Motzei Shabbos Mevorchim Nissan, Parshas HaChodesh, the 25th of Adar 5766, at 612 Maple Street at 8:30 P.M.

At this year’s Melave Malka we are aspiring to raise the final $15,000 needed for the expenses incurred this past year as a result of the crumbling of the retaining wall located just beyond our Aron Kodesh. At the time of the wall’s collapse we were desperate to save our Shul from further damage which could have been caused by ensuing erosion and from government fines that would compound the cost of repair if we would not have been able to act quickly. With hard work and tribulations – and help from the Crown Heights community – that we have come to near completion of the re-construction of the wall, Boruch Hashem.

We have saved the Shul from residual damage which the collapsed wall could have caused. Now we are seeking to completer the project and save the Shul from financial damage as our budget strains to make the final payments.

The Annual Purim Banquet: All Are Invited

The Seudas Purim was successful for over 10 years with the Brocho, Hatzlocho and Hascomo of Rabbi Marlow A”H, Rabbi Osdoba Shlita, Rabbi Raitport and Rabbi Michoel Teitlbaum A”H. Rabbi Weinberg addressed the Seuda for a couple of years and said it was the nicest Seudah. Rabbi Groner addressed the Seudah for a couple of years and he said it was the most beautiful Seudas Purim. Rabbi Osdoba will be addressing this crowd together with Mashpia Rabbi Yossi Jacobson. 1,000 people will attend the Seudah and the dancing will be for the whole Shechunah. Reb Dovid Sholom Pape from Tzivos Hashem will be the MC of the Purim Seudah.

I wish everyone a Simchas Purim Metoch Harchovo we should be Zoche to the coming of Melech Hamoshiach now.

Moshe Rubashkin,
Yoshev Rosh of Vaad Hakohol
