THE MEETING HAS BEEN POSPONED! We received word from the organizers that one of the main people from the Precinct that was supposed to attend this meeting could not make it, so the meeting was pushed off to Thursday February 23 at 8pm in the Community Council.

If you or someone you know received a ticket of not wearing a seatbelt or using a cell phone while driving from P.O. Kennedy (Car#1474) and feels that you are not guilty let your voice be heard.

PLEASE ATTEND THE MEETING AT THE CROWN HEIGHTS JEWISH COMMUNITY COUNCIL (387 KINGSTON AVENUE) THIS TUESDAY FEBRUARY 21ST AT 8PM. LOCAL OFFICIALS AS WELL AS NYPD 71ST PRECINCT OFFICIALS WILL BE PRESENT AT THE MEETING.

Please be there and bring a friend. It is important that our voices be heard.

    You made my day and my wife’s day with the notice about tickets from PO Kennedy – my wife recently got a ticket from that woman! (we lost in court.) I hope that tons of people show up and teach her a lesson!

    I actually watched her pull someone over today on Montgomery and New York and I cringed inside. Her madness must be stopped and I hope a large showing at this meeting is the solution.

    I will myself make every effort to attend.

    Being that this is not a case of her giving out tickets to those that don’t deserve them, but of her giving out tickets only to offending Jews and not anyone else breaking the same law at the same time.

    Wouldn’t it make sense that ANYONE who received a summons from either of these two officers (I’m sorry but i don’t know the second ones’ name), show up to the meeting and take a stand.

    We will not tolerate ‘Racial Profiling’!!

    In my humble opinion;

    >>>By attending the meeting, you are not saying that you weren’t guilty. You may still have to pay the fine, but at least this madness will stop.

    >>>Even if you were guilty, and have already been convicted in court, please attend anyway, if only just to show the sheer amount of tickets these two have given to us.

    Hopefully with G-ds’ help, and the help of the people who received these tickets (by showing up), a stop will finally be put to this racial profiling.

  • A CONCERNED MEMBER OF CROWN HEIGHTS

    DEAR CROWN HIEGHTS MEMBERS,
    I MYSELF HAVE NOT BEEN ISSUED A TICKET, BUT HAVE WITNESSED ABOUT 13 PEOPLE BEING PULLED OVER ON DIFFERENT DATES. 10 OF THEM WERE JEWS FROM CROWN HEIGHTS – THEY WERE ALL GIVEN SUMMONSES, THE OTHER 3 WERE COLORED PEOPLE – THEY WERE LET GO WITHOUT BEING GIVEN A SUMMONS. UPON ASKING THE OFFICER WHY THIS WAS SO, SHE YELLED AT ME THAT SHE CAN DO WHAT THE HELL SHE WANTS! THIS THURSDAY IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE IF IT IS TRUE WHAT SHE SAID. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT THIS IS OUR BEST CHANCE TO MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD. LET US JOIN TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY TO STOP THIS OUTRAGIOUS TARGETING.

    Didn’t Chanina Sperlin schedule this all by himself and not tell anybody at the Crown Heights Council office? What kind of leadership is this? The police responding to a meeting caled by only one member of the Vaad when he didn’t even tell Moshe Rubashkin about it? Why did the Police even bother? Don’t blame the NYPD for Chanina’s folly. They did not postpone the meeting!!

    A MINIVAN ON EASTEN PARKWAY IN FRONT OF 667 E.P.[ON THE PARKWAY] THINKING THE PERSON WAS JEWISH ,THE DRIVER HAPPEND TO BE ALLSO WEARING A WHITE SHIRT [MALE]
    OFFICER KENNEDY TOOK OUT HEAR BOOK TO GIVE THE DRIVER A TICKET FOR NO SEAT BELT,HOW EVER IN TURNS OUT THAT THE DRIVER WAS A BLACK MAN.
    I SAW AS OFFICER KENNEDY WAS IN SHOCK!!!
    SHE PUT AWAY HER TICKET BOOK RIGHT AWAY
    AND ONLY ASKED TO SEE THE DRIVERS LIC.
    THEN SHE TOLD THE DRIVER TO WEAR THE SEAT BELT AND SEND HIM ON HIS WAY!! DO I HAVE TO BE BORN BLACK TO BE LET GO?IS THIS RIGHT? WILL THIS EVER END? WHY IS THIS BEING ALLOWED TO GO ON FOR SO LONG? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
