Police Council Meeting Today, Be There!

As a few of our commenter’s have mentioned, there is a Police Council Meeting held once a month which is open to all residents to come and voice any concern or complaint they you may have, which we all know we do.

The meeting takes place in the IS 61/MS 61 (the public school) which is located on Empire and New York (diagonally across from the police station) at 7:30pm today [Thursday].

Another note is that to be eligible to vote for the precinct council meeting you need to attend to at least 3 meeting of the possible 10 meeting’s that take palace a year. So be there and be heard and make it count.

Rally at the Ohel this Motzei Shabbos

On Tes Vov of each month, when the moon is at its fullest, the Rebbe would go to the Ohel to daven.

Take part in this month’s Rally at the Ohel this Motzei Shabbos Or L’ Tes Vov Teves /January 14th for all children ages 5-12. There will be a grand program and each child will make their own Art Project.

Higher postage rates go into effect

Mailing a letter now costs 39 cents, another hike likely next year

It now costs Americans 39 cents to mail a letter after new postage rates went into effect Sunday.

The increase follows legislation requiring the Postal Service to place $3 billion in an escrow account this year. Another rate boost is likely next year to cover rising costs for the agency. Stamp prices last went up in June 2002.

Many rates, such as parcel post and advertising mail, vary by distance or whether the material is presorted. Rate changes taking effect, including some estimates for typical mailed items:

Police Precinct Council Meeting

Once a month every month there is a Precinct Council Meeting in which residents can attend and voice any concerns or complaints about the neighborhood or the police department itself. By attending the meeting at least three times you give yourself a right to vote in the annual elections that are held for the Council Meeting.

Rally At The Ohel

This Thursday Yud Daled Kislaiv [Dec. 15th] the Rally At The Ohel for all children ages 5 to 12 will take place. The buses will be leaving from in front of 770 at 5:00pm and return at 7:30pm.

This time there will be a special program for all the Chasidshe events that take place throughout the month of Kislaiv, and there will be a special gift given out to every Child, a way for them to hold their “Chanukah Gelt”!

Drivers Beware!!

In the winter during the very cold weather, the traffic signals tend to “Freeze” or to slow down considerably and get stuck in a yellow/red or red/red position.

If you are waiting at such an intersection and decide to just go, do so with extreme caution. And all the more the reason during this wet weather. The same gose for pedestrians, keep alert.
