Build the Beis Hamikdosh

Announcing a series of shiurim on Beis Habechira and Geulah concepts, in multiple locations. Begining 12 Tamuz there will be a weekly shiur in 6 shuls throughout the neigborhood with various speakers. The shiurim will take place around the times of mincha mariv. The 3 weeks is a time for adding in learning about the Beis Hamikdash which brings about the rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdash. For details of times and locations click here.

Summer Crown Heights Shiurim Program

This is the 5th year that Anash in Crown Height have arranged special Summer program for Baley Batim, while the family is vacationing in the Catskill Mountains and the kids are in camp.

The shiurim take place in the center of Crown Heights at Reb Getzel’s shull.

Alternate Side Parking & Meters Suspended

Alternate side parking (street cleaning) regulations are suspended on Friday, July 4, for holiday observance.

Because July 4 is a major legal holiday, parking meter regulations are also suspended. On major legal holidays, stopping, standing, and parking are permitted, except in areas where stopping, standing, and parking rules are in effect seven days a week (for example, “No Standing Anytime”).

PSA: Safegaurding Your Kosher Kitchen

This Wednesday a two week series on Kashrus will begin. The series will be delivered by two experts in the field in Kashrus, Rabbi Shmuel Bluming and Rabbi Levi Garelik. The talks will take place at Lefferts Shul on the 15th and 22nd of Sivan (both on Wednesday) from 9:15 to 10:15 PM and will be preceded by Maariv. The talks will be delivered in English. The shiurim are arranged in conjunction with Mivtza Kashrus. For more details click here

Wednesday – Rally at the Ohel

There will be a Rally at the Ohel this Wednesday, June 18th, for all children ages 5 to 12, busses will be leaving 770 at 5pm and returning at 7:30pm. $3.00

On Tes Vov of each month, when the moon is at its fullest, the Rebbe would g to the Ohel to daven. Join us each month to take part in a grand rally, recite the 12 pesukim, sing songs, and learn about the Chassideshe Yomim Tovim. Connect with other children to daven at teh Ohel and participate in a meaningful program that makes the Rebbe proud.

Hatzalah Event – $18,000 Raffle

Tonight, Monday at 7:30pm at the Lubavitcher Yeshiva 570 Crown St, [entrance on Albany Ave], for an informative free Symposium entitled “Would you recognize the signs of a heart attack?” What to do! What you learn can save your life. Guest speakers include top cardiologists from Maimonides Medical Center.

Sunday – 71st Precinct Family Day Picnic

This Sunday, June 1st, 2008, the whole community is invited to the 71st Precinct family day picnic. They will start the day off with the traditional family day parade from Empire Blvd and McKeever Pl at 11:30am going to Hamilton-Metz Park (Lefferts Park), where the picnic will be held. There will be activities for the children, ride, Horseback riding, marching bands and more. FREE Kosher food and beverages.

UPDATE: CrownHeights.info had learned that Mayor Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Kelly will be attending the picnic!
