This Sunday, September 21st there will be a Siyum Sefer Torah, This Torah was written in loving memory of Yitzchok Shmuel ben Reb Yehudah and Chanah Brachcah bas Reb Isser Backer OBM
The Siyum will take place at 2:00pm at the Backers home 1404 President Street [between Kingston and Brooklyn Ave.].
This Sunday, September 21, Chof Alef Elul, Bais Shmuel Siyum is dedicating a Torah in honor of the life and legacy of The Rebbe. The Torah will be completed at the side courtyard of 770 at 2:00pm, the parade and dancing from 770 to Bais Shmuel will start at 4:00pm and Hakofos will be at 5:00pm.

The monthly meeting of the 71st Precinct Community Board will take place today, Thursday, the 18th of October at 7:30pm, in the public school diagonally across the street from the 71st Precinct, I.S. 61 at 400 Empire Boulevard.
This meeting will be introducing the new commanding officer of the precinct, Deputy Inspector Peter Simonetti.
Crown Heightsers are urged to attend, and show our interest in our own safety, and our support for our own community.
This Monday, Tes Vov Elul, September 15th there will be a rally at the ohel. Busses will be leaving from 770 at 5:00 and will return at 7:30, ($3 for bus).

There will be a Siyum Sefer Torah in memory of Hatamim Yisroel Noach Tzfasman OBM, it will take place on his first yartzheit, this Sunday, the 14th of Elul
The final writing of the letters will take place at 12:00pm at 551 Crown Street and there will be tahalucha at 1:30pm to 770 for hakafos. The sefer Torah will be placed in the Jewish Children’s Museum.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Due to Labor Day and the West Indian Day Parade there are a slew of driving and parking regulation changes in Crown Heights.
On Sunday starting at 4:00pm there will be no parking on Eastern Parkway and on all avenues from President Street to S. Johns Place, places where you cant park are marked in red in the <%popup(2/20070901-no-parking-800.jpg|800|405|MAP ABOVE)%>. Tow trucks will be going around starting at 4:00pm towing and relocating vehicles. You will be allowed to park there once again on Tuesday at 6:00am.

The best time to leave Crown Heights on Monday morning would be before 9:00am and the best return time would be after 9:00pm.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — The intersection of Brooklyn Ave and Lefferts Ave has turned into a big source of income for the City as unsuspecting drivers are continuing to make the right turn from Brooklyn Ave onto Lefferts Ave, which is illegal during the stated hours.
Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM then again between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM it is illegal to make that right turn, regardless if it’s a school day or not.
Alternate side parking (street cleaning) regulations will be suspended on Friday, August 15, 2008 for holiday observance. All other regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect.

Sholoshim gathering for men in memory of Chana (nee Raskin) Wolvovsky Tonight, Tuesday August 12th at 8:30pm at Getzel Shul.
Marking 30 days to Chana’s passing, a special event of commemoration and inspiration honoring Chana will be taking place on Monday, August 11th at 7:00pm for woman and girls in the Bais Rivka Ballroom at 310 Crown Street.
