9:15 AM, Thursday morning. 65 Online School students were welcomed to a grand program at Oholei Torah.
The Shluchim gathered this morning at the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens to deliver a ‘Pan Kloli’ – a general letter from all the Shluchim, which was read aloud by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky. Each Shliach placed a personal letter at the Rebbe’s resting place as well.
Before being assigned to groups of Tze’irei Hashluchim to care for over the next few days, volunteer counselors gathered for a mission statement and words of inspiration.
Shluchim packed in to the Brooklyn Marriott, near the Brooklyn Bridge, for a day packed with sessions and discussion panels.

This years Kinus Hashluchim coincides with the 200th Yohrtzeit of the Alter Rebbe – the author of the holy Tanya. Marking this milestone a new special edition of the Tanya was printed for the Shluchim and was distributed on Thursday.
What is a Kinus Hashluchim without programming for the Shluchims children? The Shluchim Online School hosted a Day of Celebration for 65 of their students who traveled to New York with their fathers. The students spent part of the day in regular Oholei Torah classrooms, had a reunion brunch and went bowling!
The Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, the site where the Kinus Shluchims banquet was scheduled to be held, was damaged by the floods from Hurricane Sandy and the organizing committee was notified that it would not be available for the banquet – scheduled to take place in a week from now.
Taking place in less then a month, the annual Kinus Hashluchim Haolami – the four-day-event event which sees thousands of Rabbis from around the world converge on Crown Heights, is set to begin. The Kinus committee has announced the speakers for the gala banquet which concludes the monumental event.
After the call of the roll was called out by six fellow Shluchos the crowd broke out into roaring song and dance.
Over 2000 Shluchos are gathered in the grand ballroom of the Hilton in Manhattan with their grand banquet about to get underway.
