Before enjoying a lavish meal, the Shluchos heard from Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky who congratulated them for thier making Shlichus a possibility, and Mrs. Louise Hagar who spoke of her special connection to the Rebbetzin.

Tonight, Wednesday, the International Kinus Hashluchos begins with thousands of Shluchos from around the world descending on Crown Heights. With international unrest one of the primary concerns is safety, and the NYPD beefed up its presence.

Security Meeting: Merkos and Police Prepare for Kinus
This coming Wednesday will mark the opening of the international conference of Shluchos in Crown Heights, an event which will bring thousands of emissaries from around the world. One of the chief concerns is safety, and addressing that were representatives form the police department and Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch who met earlier this week.

At the Kinus Hasluchim Banquet a special video profiling the tri-state area Shluchim caught in Hurricane Sandys wrath. Rabbi Chaim Brikman, Chabad by the Ocean and Rabbi Eli Goodman, Chabad of Long Beach gave a tour of their personal devastation and how they mobilized to help out their communities.
