The annual gathering of Shluchim to the western region of the United States took place on Shabbos Mevorchim Sivan, Parshas Bechukosai, on the stunning seven-acre campus of Chabad of Arkansas.
Shluchim to the New York and New England region held their official Regional Kinus Hashluchim this past week. The gathering took place in the beautiful new facilities of Chabad of Great Neck, NY.
Filled with inspiration and relaxation, 150 Shluchos who had gathered at the fifth Chana Seminar in Europe, arranged by Chana Margolin of Brussels, departed with revitalized energies to their homes.
Last week the executive Vaad of Kinus Hashluchim had their first meeting to start planning the 5777 Kinus that will be taking place some seven months from now.
Rimma Alexeeva is back home in San Carlos, Calif., which sits halfway between San Francisco to the north and San Jose to the south. She returned to 60-degree weather, which by Sunday is expected to reach nearly 70. It’s a far cry from last week, when she trudged through the slush and snow in New York City, wearing borrowed black boots and a white parka, necessary items for the drudge of a Northeast winter.
With Chof Beis Shvat – the day of the Rebbetzins Yohrtzeit – falling out on Monday, participants of the Kinus Hashluchos gathered at the Rebbe’s Ohel and the graveside of the Rebbetzin in Queens, praying for their families, communities and fellow Shluchos.
On Sunday, the fourth and final day of the International Kinus Hashluchos, in the hours leading up to the grand banquet, the Shluchos had breakfast together, and attended a rabbonim session and general session.
