First release: An 8 minute video produced by JEM shows the Rebbe addressing a children's rally in 770 in 5749. The Rebbe is seen entering 770 while the crowd of Anash, temimim and children is singing 'Kesiva Vachasima Tova'. Some of the children are heard reciting the 12 pesukim and after Mincheh the Rebbe addressed the children, many of whom had just returned from camp Gan Yisroel for boys and Camp Emunah for girls, founded and directed by Rabbi Yaacov Yehudah Hecht, who chaired the rally.

In his address the Rebbe mentioned that the children were in the 'Cheder' (school) of G-d Almighty. Bags of coins were given to the counsellors to hand out to the children, who were instructed to give a coin to Tzedaka.

At 6:00pm yesterday [Tuesday] a young boy was playing on the gate by the apartment complex on E New York and Kingston, where he got tangled in the gate and was crushed. The gate serves as the entrance for cars to enter the buildings parking lot and is operated by a remote control.

Apparently the child held on to the gate to get a ride up with the gate when something went wrong and the gate didn’t stop, and it pulled the child into the roll of the gate where it tangled and crushed the boy. A Shomrim member that happened to have been passing by, BeHashgocha Protis, called for help over the radio and within 20 seconds there were 3 Shomrim member there along with one passerby who began working on freeing the child from the gate.

Last week Wednesday, August 16, a Bochur walking home at 11:30 at night after a shiur, was assaulted by a black male. The incident took place on Utica Ave. between Lincoln Pl. and Eastern Pkwy. where the perp came up behind the Bochur and struck him in the back of the head then ran away, making no demand for money.

The Bochur who happened to be on the phone with 911 for some other reason, immediately told the 911 dispatcher that he was just assaulted and that he still see’s the perp and they should dispatch a police unit, according to the Bochur the dispatcher said that the police will be there shortly and the Bochur requested that the dispatcher remain on the line with him for he didn’t feel safe in the neighborhood, to which the dispatcher responded “I have no time” and hung up.

43 minutes after the initial 911 call the Bochur flagged down a passing police officer who was nice enough to stop and hear the Bochur’s story and fill out a police report, during which the dispatched police unit showed up 15 minutes after flagging down that cop that was already writing up the report, where he took all his information and was told that a detective will be in touch with him.

The police were immediately called. They arrived immediately and were very comforting. They said to keep our eyes open, and if we see the person we should immediately call 911.

Car Accident on Eastern Parkway

A car full of Bochurim on their way upstate on Motzoai Shabbos got into a serious accident, but B”H there was no serious injuries. The car was headed down Eastern Pkwy. when it began raining and at the intersection of St. Johns Pl. when traffic began slowing and according to the driver the breaks locked up and the car went skidding into the rear of an SUV.

The force of the impact sent the SUV over the sidewalk and into the building across the street. B”H there was no oncoming traffic. One passenger from the Bochurims car was taken for a checkup and a passenger in the SUV was taken as well, they were all transported to Kings County Hospital with no serious injuries, B”H.

Morristown, NJ — A student of the Rabbinical College of America was arrested for punching a man, trying to steal his car and then “mooning” onlookers.

Police were called at 10:27 p.m. Saturday after a resident of Tikvah Way, a residential condominium area for the Rabbinical College community, approached *** ***, 19, of Crown Heights, N.Y., a student, who appeared to be intoxicated and walking on the street.

The resident asked *** if he needed help and even offered him a ride home. Police said *** responded by grabbing the man's car keys and then got into the man's car and tried to put the car into reverse.
