American Chabad on Campus Breaks 100 Center Milestone

Stamford, CT — Speaking at the banquet of the annual conference of Chabad on Campus emissaries Thursday night, philanthropist and international businessman George Rohr announced an historic slate of nine new campus projects, effectively bringing the number of universities served by the Chabad-Lubavitch movement to 130 worldwide.

More than 100 are now in the United States alone.

An Evening on Nutrition with Hatzalah and Maimonides

Crown Heights, Brooklyn — In an evening entitled “Nutrition and You” members of the community gathered this past Wednesday evening in the hall of Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Crown Street to hear a lecture from medical experts on nutrition and for a raffle drawing.

New Shluchim to Alberta, Canada

Rabbi Dovid and Mrs Chanie (nee Matusof) Altein have just moved on Shlichus to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where they have joined the administrative staff at Chabad Lubavitch of Alberta, Canada. Rabbi Altein will also direct the newly established Friendship Circle. The Alteins were appointed by Rabbi Menachem Matusof, Executive Director of Chabad Lubavitch of Alberta.

Stamford, CT — On Monday night, in honor of Gimmel Tammuz, there was a Farbrengen in Stamford, CT, organized by the Shluchim, Rabbis Deren, Shemtov and Mendelow. Rabbi Michoel Seligson Farbrenged and inspired the assembled with warm Chassidishe thoughts and beautiful stories of the Rebbe.

Destination ‘Gan Israel’ – Girls Head to Camp

Moscow, Russia – This week, the first session of the summer camp ‘Gan Israel’ has gotten underway. The youth will enjoy their break at the permanent camp base, which is located not far from Moscow.

The first group to enjoy this long-awaited experience includes over 200 girls, aged from 7 to 12 years old. There, they will be met by a number of dedicated camp staff – students of the ‘Machon Chamesh’ Women’s Institute in Moscow. While some of them will be working at the camp for the first time, many of them are already seasoned experts.

Chabad of the Conejo Celebrates 28 Years

Conejo, CA — Chabad of the Conejo, CA held its annual Gala Banquet on Tuesday, June 12th, 2007. The event was held at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Nine hundred friends and supporters gathered for an evening of glamour, entertainment, and tribute. The gala this year was titled “A Call To Leadership” and was followed by a performance in the Kavli Theatre (1600 people) featuring The Moshav Band and Marc Salem in a new show “Mind Games Extra”.

Bicycle Registration Tomorrow

Religious Construction Projects Runneth Over

Joshua Young, who is enrolled in the Chabad-Lubavitch of Greater Boynton Beach Early Childhood Center program that will begin in August, helps plant seeds in the alphabet garden with Director Leslie Cooper.

Boynton Beach, FL — At Chabad, the new 10,000 square-foot Jewish Early Childhood Center will join the recently opened mikvah on the 3-acre El Clair Ranch Road campus. It is expected to open Aug. 28, with classes for 2- and 3-year-olds. Pre-kindergarten classes will be added the following year.
