I just had an amazing realization during a keynote address I gave to the Chabad of California annual rabbis’ conference.
The realization was, and is, that I am here in this world for a Purpose. A Purpose I have never understood. But a Purpose which, as I spoke to the Chabad Schluchum (rabbis), became as clear to me as anything I have ever felt or experienced.

The Shiur was organized by the Iggud Avreichim, a group of yungeleit in Crown Heights.

A bungling techie in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office accidentally erased an audiotape recording of a statement by one of the men charged in the death of NYPD Officer Russel Timoshenko, The Post has learned.
There were no other copies of the cassette, made July 12 by detectives as they grilled Robert Ellis at the state police barracks in Swiftwater, Pa., said sources familiar with the case.
It’s the second major snafu associated with the high-profile case and the latest in a laundry list of legal lapses for DA Charles Hynes in the past year.

TZFAS, Israel [CHI] — The month started off with a Siyum on Gemora on Rosh Codesh by Hatomim Chaim Shimon Dubov and Hatomim HaShliach Shlomo Yager. It was very inspiring to hear Rabbi ‘O’rimland, Rosh HaYeshiva, speak about a bochur who came to the yeshiva saying I can’t, I can’t, I can’t!!! Today, besides the siyum he is also finishing Basar V’Cholov.

“Chaya, my blanket fell off,” comes a soft voice. “Could you tuck me in?”
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Girls from Beis Rivkah High School and Bnos Menachem High School, arranged in honor of Purim Koton that the grades switch schools for the morning.
According to the girls involved, the plan was that the girls attend Davening at each other’s schools then switch back before beginning the period of classes. What actually happened has parents up in arms.
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Snow started falling at about 11:00pm last night, cloaking Crown Heights in nice thick layer of white snow by the time residents woke up this morning. A total of about 5 inches of snow accumulated so far, and we can get as much as 9 inches.
