Packed House at Birchas Hachama Halachos Shiur

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Every seat in Kolel Menachem was taken on Thursday, when more than 100 men came to review the Halachos of Birchas Hachama.

“What is the source for the mitzvah of Birchas Hachama?” was a question fielded by Maggid Shiur, Rabbi Zalman Moshe Abrahams, among other thoughtful questions.

New Round of Car Break-ins

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Over Shabbos two cars were broken into and ransacked. The incidents took place on Carroll Street between Brooklyn and Albany Avenues, and according to the owners it could have happened from when they parked Erev Shabbos till they got to their cars next on Sunday.

LOS ANGELES, CA [CHI] — For weeks Hatmimim Zalman Dubinsky and Nisson Friedman, students in Yeshivas Ohr Elchanan Chabad in Los Angeles, would go into a furniture store and drop off a weekly L’chaim pamphlet by the elderly man, in his mid-to-late eighties, by the desk. “The man you’re looking for is not here” he said every week. “I’ll give it to the owner” he says making sure to show that he wouldn’t read it.
