Bochurim Doing Mivtoim at London’s Heathrow Airport

Throughout the nights of Chanukah El Al had a 10:15pm flight taking off from London’s Heathrow Airport to Tel Aviv, Israel. These lucky passengers and flight crew were welcomed in boarding lounge by the Bochurim, who distributed delicious jelly doughnuts and a travel size Chanukah Menorah with candles for they trip. The passengers and crew enjoyed the company and Divrei Torah while waiting for their plane. Thousands of Menorahs and doughnuts were distributed throughout the nights of Chanukah.

Slideshow – World’s Largest Toy Menorah at Chicago Yeshiva

On Wednesday December 16th 2009, in honor of the sixth night of Chanukah, over 300 people got together at the Seymour J. Abrams Cheder Lubavitch Hebrew Day School in Chicago for a very special event: The lighting of the World’s Largest Toy Menorah! Rabbi Avraham Varnai and his fourth grade class wanted to help children that are ill to experience the joy of Chanukah. They started collecting brand new toys and built a beautiful menorah.

Family Event in Cheder at the Ohel

The students of Cheder at the Ohel were all tingling with excitement throughout the recent Chanukah event held for their families during Chanukah at Cheder Tzeirei HaShluchim. Shouts of “pick me, pick me” were heard as the fascinating magician showed them all types of mystifying tricks. They tried to figure out how he did them and what he was going to do next. The parents loved watching their children’s enthusiasm. Great fun was had by all.

‘No Jew Left Behind’ Torah Completed

The Aleph Institute’s “No Jew Left Behind Torah” Siyum Sefer Torah was celebrated Sunday, December 13th, the 2nd day of Chanukah, The Aleph Institute completed the Torah dedication that commenced in Morgantown West Virginia Federal Prison. This gave an opportunity for members of the wider community in South Florida, to participate in this ceremonial event which finalized the Torah.

Chabad House in South Broward Destroyed by Flood

A surprise flood that targeted Hallandale Beach Thursday night December 17 and early Friday morning December 18 has destroyed the Chabad Preschool and the main offices of Chabad of South Broward Headquarters. The flood that came without any warning from meteorologists, primarily caused damage to a relatively small geographic area, specifically Hallandale Beach and the coastal cities nearby.

Rabbi Miller has also published The Kol Menachem Haggadah, both Ashkanazic and Chabad (Nusach Ari) versions. I was recently at a cousin’s wedding in Crown Heights and absolutely enjoyed every moment. My cousin married a fine, frumeh Mentch – AKA chasidishe Bochur, I was with family, the music was Jewish and the dancing was energetic. The joy was authentic and palpable.

So? Big deal! What’s there to write about?
