With quiet restored to the streets of Bangkok, Rabbi Yosef C. Kantor, the Chabad-Lubavitch emissary who had urged Jewish residents in the city to pray for the peace of Thailand, reported just before the dawn of the Jewish Sabbath that communal institutions had largely been spared the effects of a mid-week crackdown on anti-government protesters.

Fake Census Bureau Reps Stage Home Invasion

The police are seeking two suspects in connection with a home invasion and robbery at gun point in Crown Heights. The incident took place on Friday morning at around 8:30 in the Ebbets Field housing project, where one suspect gained access to the apartment by posing as a representative for the census bureau, and together they pushed their way in at gunpoint stole cash and jewelry.
