Kids Learn That Matzah is More Than Flour and Water

A troop of Jewish Girl Scouts take part in a model matzah bakery hosted by the Dallas Jewish Community Center and run by Chabad-Lubavitch of Dallas.

Jewish centers around the world took a hands-on approach to prepping people for Passover, offering children and adults alike the chance to get down and dirty with flour and water and learn how to make the special unleavened bread known as matzah.

Chabad House Gets Building Approval on 11th of Nissan!

TACOMA, WA [CHI] — After two years of battling the legal system to gain approval for the plans and permits for a new Chabad Jewish Center, the Hearing Examiner announced today – Yud Aleph Nissan – the decision that the appeal was granted and plans can go forward with the project of building the new Chabad Jewish Center in Pierce County, Washington, which is run by Shluchim Rabbi Zalman and Miriam Heber.

Excitement and surprise filled all present as the name Menachem Mendel was announced – a truly uncommon name for that Persian community.

The joy was overwhelming as a Persian couple, married for over 18 years, gave birth to their first baby boy. On the eighth day, in a highly festive spirit, the Bris was performed in Chabad of Brookville by the Mohel, Rabbi Levi Heber. The father donned Tefillin and served as Sandek. Rabbi Mendy Heber, the Shliach of Brookville, was honored to bless the child and introduce his Hebrew name.
