Horav Hachossid, Dr. Nissan Mindel (2nd of Nissan 5672-1912- 12th of Tamuz 5759-1999) was born in 5672-1912 on the 2nd of Nissan, in Riga, Latvia, to Horav Yaakov Yitzchak and Mrs. Bunya Mindel. At the age of fifteen, he was studying in the Yeshiva Torah Im Derech Eretz which combined Torah studies and secular subjects, and was under the direction of Horav Chaim Mordechai Hodokov. The curriculum was based on the teachings of Horav Shimshon Rafael Hirsch and encouraged the older students to continue their studies in the university and at the same time to stay connected to Torah, Mitzvos and Yiras Shomayim.

LOS ANGELES, CA [CHI] — Hundreds of guests came to rejoice with the talmidim of Kollel Tiferes Menachem in Los Angeles as they celebrated a gala Chag HaSmicha on Thusday ohr leChaf Ches Sivan. Hailing from Australia, England and across the States, parents and grandparents came to radiate with pride as their sons reached this distinguishing milestone. The enveloping atmosphere was one of brotherly love, joy and accomplishment.

Premesivta is completely full for this summer and is expecting that this year will outdo all previous summers as per chasidishkite, excitement, and adventure. Buses willing be pulling out of Crown Heights IMH next Wednesday starting the courses for seven amazing weeks.

He will be taking up the position of Shliach Torah in the Beis Chabad of Sarcelles, France under Rabbi Yaakov Bitton.
