Reizes on Elections and Voting

To Crown Heights Residents, Toshvei HaShechuna Sheyich’ :

We are holding community elections to choose candidates for Vaad Hakahol / CHJCC and for Gabboim, to run the crown jewel of crown heights, 770 Eastern Parkway – the Rebbe’s shul.

I will ask of you to please read the following with the attention that it deserves, and don’t judge the ideas by the writer but by the content.

The Rebbe once said that everything which happens in Crown Heights has an effect on the entire world. In a footnote, the Rebbe adds that (being that this generation is the last generation of golus, and the first generation of geulah, hence the culmination and climax of all generations therefore, the Rebbe emphasizes that) everything that happens in Crown Heights has an effect (not only on this generation but also) on all the previous generations.

The Rebbe Thanks the Rebbetzin’s Doctor!

When his wife Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, of righteous memory, was cured of a sickness, the Rebbe did more than pay the physician. He thanked him for his success, which came from the true “Healer of all flesh and Performer of wonders.” With Gimmel Tamuz approaching, The Avner Institute presents this letter, courtesy of Rabbi Sholom Ber Weinberg and Mrs. Rishe Deitsch, where the Rebbe elegantly writes of the physician’s role and remittance due to level personal and professional care.

Holding Police Accountable, Community First!

We urge to come out and vote for us this Sunday in the Vaad Hakohol elections. We decided to run for Vaad Hakohol because we believe we can make a difference. Since you are already taking your time to read this paper, you already know the importance of having a viable Vaad. Therefore, we will not spend time explaining what we think the Vaad should do; instead, we will explain what we can do for the Vaad and for the community.

‘Old Vaad’ Weighs in on the Current Elections

The members of the ‘old Vaad’, Rabbi Shmuel Plotkin, Moshe Rubashkin, and Dr. Zvi Lang weigh in on the current elections with a very sharp letter that was delivered to homes in the neighborhood. The letter takes issue with a number of important topics on the upcoming elections.

Gimmel Tammuz – Inspiring the Next Generation

On Yud Shevat, 5725 (1965), fifteen years after the Frierdiker Rebbe’s passing, the Rebbe gave a historic talk on the critical importance that Chassidim document the stories of their generation, in order for the younger generation to learn from them, and to pass them on to future generations.

Sicha of the Rebbe – Parshas Korach

The Rebbe says:

1. In this week’s Torah portion the Torah tells us about how Korach incited the people against Moshe Rabbeinu (Moses our teacher) and his brother Aharon Hakohen (Aaron the High priest). This comes after last week’s story of the Miraglim (the spies) who had their own agenda and reported to the Jewish assembly that the Land of Canaan was not for them, even though Hashem (G-d) had promised to take the Jewish people into the Land of Canaan.

The basic thrust of Korach’s argument was that if every single Jew is a part of one, “Holy Nation”, as Hashem calls us, why is there only one Kohen Gadol (Aharon)? Korach said, “Why do you exalt yourselves over the congregation of Hashem?”

What finally pushed Korach to fight publicly with Moshe Rabbeinu was when Moshe appointed his younger cousin Elizaphan to be the Prince (Nassi) of the tribe of Levi and not Korach.

Crown Heights Shuls Farbreng!

“Igud Avreichim” in conjunction with the “Worldwide campaign to increase in Ahavas Chasidim”, have put together a list of all the Farbrengens which will take place in all the Shuls in Crown Heights, (as Igud Avreichim has done last year), in the spirit of Ahavas Chasiddim and Sheves Achim Gam Yochad.
