With great sadness we inform you of the passing of Rabbi Meir Halberstam of Bnei Brak, at the age of 85. Rabbi Halberstam is survived by his two sons: Rabbis Chaim Boruch and Chesed Halberstam of Crown Heights. He was the grandfather of terrorism victim Ari Halberstam HYD.

Crown Heights [CHI] — The entire 770 has been evacuated and all the morning regulars are congregating outside due to a suspicious package that has been mysteriously placed at the “Shalash” entrance (between old and new 770 buildings). The NYPD’s bomb squad is on the way to inspect the package and determine what further steps must be taken. Update: Package determined to be harmless.

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Three Crown Heights Shuls got together in honor of Yud Tes Kislev and together they learned Tanya, attended a Shiur and later farbrenged into the night. The program was Hosted by Oihel Nosson who invited Beis Shmuel and Cong. Ahavas Yisroel.
Starting with a delicious seuda, Cheder at the Ohel students and teachers had a very lively Farbrengen. Led by Rabbi Mendy Levin (Australia), Rabbi Leibel Paris and Rabbi Naftoli Charytan the Cheder boys chanted the 12 peskukim with chayos along with nigunim and a lively benching.
