It was the shortest day of the year, but when the fourth Chanukah light was kindled on Thursday, 22nd of December outside the Gloucester Road underground station, there was light.
On Wednesday december 21 – the 2nd night of chanukah Rabbi Peretz and Chavi Chein of Chabad of Cheadle, UK organised their annual chanukah lighting in the Sainsbury’s and John Lewis Mall.

Fortunate is the eye who beheld the scene at Sanborn Square in Boca Raton, FL on Sunday – the 6th night of Chanukah. This Chanukah, Lubavitcher truck driver Moshe Rothstein spread the Chanukah light while driving his truck across the UK highways. “If the other truck drivers put an x-mas tree in their cabs, I can put my menorah and show everyone it’s Chanukah” he said.
The weather was gorgeous, and hundreds of people joined, as a giant Menorah carefully erected in a pool of water – by the office of the Mayor in Curitiba, Brazil.
The 32nd annual South Florida Chassidic Chanukah took place on the 7th Night of Chanukah , it was bigger and better than ever – and that’s saying a lot, since more than 10,000 people have participated each year since the event was moved to Gulfstream Park in 2007. Police estimated the crowd at anywhere between 12,000-13,000, with 10,000 people on the main level, and 2-3,000 people on the second and third mezzanine levels. It was a Who’s Who of Community Leaders who participated in the Chanukah Festival and Giant Menorah Lighting.
