400 Attend ‘Hip Hop Chanukah’ in Marlboro, NJ
‘Hip Hop Chanukah’ attracted approximately 400 participants to Chabad of Western Monmouth County’s Annual Menorah lighting in Marlboro, NJ on Sunday, December 25th.
Participants were greeted by Judah the Maccabee and given their very own “Chanukah Passports,” which allowed them to “visit” and paticipate in a wide variety of activities and crafts.
The Draidel Moon Bounce and Chanukah Hip Hop Dance Machine were some of the WILD & Exciting activities of the day.
Children’s activities included: Face painting, Creating Chanukah cards, making & decorating their own Donuts from scratch, Frying their own Latkas, dipping their own candles, building their own menorahs & draidels and a wide variety of games.
A live “Glow In The Dark” Chanukah reenactment was a hit at the Chanukah celebration as well.
“Hip Hop Chanukah” is the brainstorm of Rabbi Avrohom Bernstein, Program Director at Chabad WMC, inventor of the first ever “Lego Menorah.” Rabbi Bernstein was assisted by Shluchos Shterny Sufrin and Mushky Haller, as well as 20 other community volunteers.
