California Shluchim and alumni of Yeshivas Tzeirei HaShluchim of Tzfat joined together for a week of gatherings and farbrengens, as well as meetings for early enrollment, during an inspiring visit by Tzfat Shliach and Tzeirei HaShluchim head administrator Rabbi Menachem Traxler.
An historic event took place in the famous tourist destination of Cancun, Mexico: the laying of the cornerstone for the new 15,000 square foot edifice that will serve the thousands of Jewish visitors and the small local Jewish population of Cancun. From a record 28 songs submitted to the committee assigned to select a niggun in honor of Yud Aleph Nissan, the one composed by Rabbi Berel Pashter, Mashpia in Yeshiva of Brunoy, France, was chosen to be the Rebbe’s birthday niggun for 5772.

A member of the Crown Heights Shomrim was driving up Troy Ave. at around 6:00 today, when he noticed heavy smoke escaping from the car in front of him. He immediately ran over and convinced the oblivious driver to get out of the car before it would be too late. The man obliged in the nick of time, as the engine burst into flames as soon as he got out and very quickly consumed the entire vehicle.
At around 5:00 PM today, a middle aged Jewish man was struck by a vehicle while crossing the Eastern Parkway service lane near the corner of Kingston Ave. The driver of the vehicle, an African-American woman, was very professional, and remained at the scene until the victim was taken to the hospital and a police report was filed.
A hulking man walked into Benz’s Fish shop on Albany Avenue and walked out with $35 that was not his. He stole it. How he did it is what’s disturbing, and Benz’s shared this video with our readers as a warning for the public and other shopkeepers.

On the 22nd of March, 2012, about 72 hours after the tragic news of the brutal massacre of a father and three children in Toulouse, France shocked the world, a baby boy was born to Zalmy and Chaya Wolff (nee Inglis) of Crown Heights. This morning, the newborn was named after Aryeh, the 6-year-old son of Yonatan and Eva Sandler, who was murdered, along with his father and 3-year-old brother Gavriel, on his way to school that morning.
