CH.info Youtube Video Garners Media Attention

Last December Crownheights.info’s Youtube Channel uploaded a shocking video of African-American teenagers jumping into the Kingston Ave. subway tracks and “playing chicken” with the train. The video has just gone viral and is being reported on by local, national and even international TV stations.

Although she was initially unsure whether science could effectively influence national policy, Harvard Medical School psychobiology professor Bertha Madras discovered how she could use her background as a researcher to address the problems of drug addiction and youth drug use, she said in a Monday lecture.

The Jewish community in Phoenix, Arizona, is doing everything it can for Sashie Levertov, a local educator battling leukemia after a February diagnosis. Many women are reciting portions of Psalms in the merit of her recovery, baking challah and lighting Shabbat candles, while children at Levertov’s Aleph Bet Preschool and Kindergarten have made quilts and offered prayers using the Chabad-Lubavitch emissary’s Hebrew name, Sasha bat Bluma.

Shaul Spitzer, a follower of the Skverer Rebbe, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for first-degree assault in the attack on Aron Rottenberg at 4:15 a.m. May 22 during an attempt to burn down the family’s home on Truman Avenue in New Square.
