Electrical Fire Leaves Montreal Community in the Dark
An electrical power line burst into flames in front of the Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Montreal today, knocking out power to the entire area.

It looks like the Fire Dept was there even before it burst into flames. What brought them there in the first place? What caused the lamp to spark and ignite?

Lightening hit the power pole.

no it didn’t! there was no lightning last night

An electrical transformer/circuit blew on that pole. Neighbors saw and heard it, called the fire department and it took a while for them to close the power in the area (to stop the fire and fix it).
The person who took the video must have known that it would light up again after seeing it beforehand, and wanted to catch it on video.

You know beforehand b/c there’s a boom b/f it catches on fire. It happened here a few years back.
