One of the most fundamental paradoxes in Judaism and faith in God is that of prayer. We are commanded to pray three times daily and in times of distress, to beseech of God that He provide us with our fundamental human needs and desires such as health, livelihood and children.

Op-Ed: Is He Missing or Is He Not?

I am a member of the volunteer corps organized by Shomrim yesterday in search of Yakov Gourin, the missing French Twin. I penned this op-ed to describe the hardships we experienced over the uncertainty and conflicting reports that emerged from various news outlets over the course of the day, and the potential dangers posed by them.

Missing French Twin Found

We are pleased to report that as of 4:30 this morning Yakov has been found and is doing fine. It turns out that he just wanted to take a break from a long summer of hard work, and impulsively decided to leave for a few days vacation. He will return to Crown Heights in the near future.
