Our Heros: Reb Yosef M. M. Tenenbaum (1917-1993)

Horav Hachossid Reb Yosef Menachem Mendel Tenenbaum was born in 1917 to Hachossid Reb Yitzchok and Mrs. Sima Masha in Kotzk, Poland. Reb Mendel’s maternal grandfather, Reb Alter Yaakov Yehuda, was a Kotzker chossid. Chassidim recalled that the Kotzker Rebbe would not begin davening until Reb Alter had come into shul.

9-Year-Old Injured in Shabbos Morning Accident

CROWN HEIGHTS — A 9-year-old child was critically injured in an early Shabbos morning accident in the intersection of Utica Avenue and Eastern Parkway. EMS treated the boy and Hatzalahs assistance was not needed and according to DNAinfo he is currently listed in critical condition in Kings County Hospital.

On the 10th of Tevet of the year 3336 from Creation (425 BCE), the armies of the Babylonian emperor Nebuchadnezzar laid siege to Jerusalem. Thirty months later — on Tammuz 9, 3338 — the city walls were breached, and on Av 9th of that year, the Holy Temple was destroyed. The Jewish people were exiled to Babylonia for 70 years.
