Chabad Delegation Meets with IDF Chief of Staff
A delegation of Chabad Chassidim met with the chief of staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, Lt. General Benny Gantz ahead of the upcoming holiday of Rosh Hashana. A new Sefer Torah, being written in merit of the soldiers serving in the IDF, had its first letters filled in by the Lt. General.

In this week’s edition of Letter & Spirit, we present a letter of the Rebbe in which he explains the idea of hashgocho protis as we see it in the 27th Perek of Tehillim – “L’Dovid H’ Ori,” which we say during Elul and most of Tishrei. The letter was written through the Rebbe’s trusted secretary Rabbi Nissan Mindel, and was made available by his son-in-law Rabbi Sholom Ber Shapiro.

A 29-year-old Queens man has been indicted by Brooklyn’s D.A. for an armed carjacking that he allegedly committed on the corner of Eastern Parkway and Utica Ave. in Crown Heights this summer.
