Darchai Menachems Hands on Approach to Parshas Noach
On Tuesday last week, Darchai Menachem was visited by a petting zoo. The massive cow looked down with lazy eyes when the boys started to milk her. The farmer from Beaver Wood Farms announced that for whoever wanted to drink, the milk was Cholov Yisroel.

Crown Heights assailant who viciously attacked a man in Crown Heights, had his hate crime charges dropped by a grand Jury.
New NYPD Rules Give New Yorkers “Right to Know”
A new law passed by the City Council, named the “Right to Know” law, requires all NYPD officers to give more information when they stop someone. They would need to tell their full name and rank, as well as other bits of usefull information.
Chabad Rabbi Receives Senator’s Award
On October 15, Senator John E. Brooks stopped by the Chabad Center for Jewish Life on Hewlett Avenue with a delivery for Rabbi Shimon and Chanie Kramer. The couple received a NYS Commendation Award in recognition of their contribution to the community.

Measles Outbreak in the Frum Community
Following an exciting holiday season with lots of traveling around the world, a virus has made its way back into the United States, and into the frum community in particular. Six cases of the measles have been reported in Williamsburg, hospitalizing at least one, and 11 cases have been confirmed in Rockland County.
Boro Park Cabby Given a $15,000 Bail
Cabby that beat Lipa Schwartz, 62, in Boro Park which caused officials to demand better policing of hate crimes, has been given a $15,000 bail option. Coincidentally, the judge who presided over his hearing was Ruchie Frier, a frum Judge and leader of Ezras Nashim, the all woman first response organization.
Chabad of Hunterdon County Breaks Ground
Last week, the county’s Jewish residents broke ground on a $4.7 million Jewish community center. The 17,000-square-foot Yakov and Hava Telyas Chabad Jewish Center facility, featuring a synagogue, social hall, library and kosher kitchen, will go up on ten acres of land acquired by Chabad in 2014.

New Shluchim to Southern Utah
Rabbi Mendy and Chaya Cohen, and their two young children, are setting up shop in St. George. Located at the southwestern border, St. George is a two-hour drive from the Jewish community of Las Vegas. It’s not a big move for Chaya: the twenty-two year old grew up four hours north in Salt Lake City where her parents, Rabbi Benny and Sharonne Zippel, are Chabad representatives. For Mendy, a Montreal native, the city’s topography and year-round warm weather are a pleasant change.
Here’s My Story: No Half and Half
Mine was not an auspicious beginning. I was born in Vilna in the midst of World War Two, just a week before the German bombardment of the city began in 1941. It was difficult to assemble a minyan for my circumcision, as everyone was scared to come outdoors and, thereafter, my parents had to hide me in an orphanage while they fled the Nazis.
